Mazda MX-5 Spyder and MX-5 Speedster

Mazda had an incredible showing at this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas with two striking MX-5 concepts, the classic bikini-topped MX-5 Spyder and the open-top MX-5 Speedster. According to Mazda, these two concepts were built around three tenets: Lightweight, fun-to-drive, and roadster. They combined these three goals with an extreme take on the already quick and nimble MX-5 Miata.

Highlights of the MX-5 Spyder include a Mercury Silver paint color, a carbon fiber aero kit, and Yokohama ADVAN Racing RS II 17-inch wheels. Inside the Spyder gets an interior lined with Spinneybeck "PRIMA" natural leather that harkens back to the vintage cars of yesteryear.

Highlights of the MX-5 Speedster include a deflector instead of windshield for a wind-in-hair driving experience, 16-inch RAYS Extreme Gram Lights wheels, and a new concept color called Blue Ether. Inside you'll find an interior trimmed in Alcantara, carbon fiber Mu-Len Delta seats, and carbon fiber doors. This weight saving technology contributes to an overall weight loss of more than 250 pounds under the standard MX-5 Miata.
